His coat is short and pale in color and along the back shows dark belts, his tail is surrounded by rings and his legs end with feet with swastika claws back, the length of his head and body about 38 cm, and weighs about 750 grams. He is active at night, living in isolation, taking shelter on trees that he climbs lightly and cleverly navigating his food consisting of small vertebrates and eggs. Females give birth twice a year, placing in each cradle 2 to 3 young in February and August. By placing them in a tree cavity or in a burrow in the ground, the young are able to become independent from their mother after only four weeks
